| Video Discription | Cerebral Revascularization Surgery (STA-MCA bypass) A 60 yr male patient had multiple episodes of loss of consciousness, slurred speech and transient weakness. MR angio shows near complete occlusion ot Rt internal carotid artery ( ICA ) and multiple patchy infact. Rt cerebral blood flow is very sparse and is through acom ( anterior communicating artery ) from contralateral ICA. We planned for "Cerebral Revascularization surgery" In this procedure we anastomose STA ( superficial temporal artery ) br of ECA with middle cerebral artery br of ICA. So we divert blood flow of ECA ( External Carotid Artery ) to ICA . This is direct Revascularization procedure with excellent results. Sharing video of cerebral Revascularization procedure ... with post-op 6 months follow up CT angio with excellent Revascularization of Rt cerebral hemisphere . |
