| Video Discription | Awake craniotomy with Ecog guided resection of the sensory cortex and Multiple Subpial Transection (MST) of the motor cortex. This is the video of one of our patients who underwent successful surgery for drug-resistant epilepsy. In this patient, the seizures were originating from the area of the brain which controlled his left hand. We could cure his epilepsy with this surgery without affecting his hand function. This was possible as he stayed awake throughout the surgery and was able to communicate any minor discomfort in moving his hand by which we could alter the surgical strategies on the table. |
