| Video Discription | This is a full unedited video. Patient had 2 previous surgeries performed elsewhere, median supracerebellar infratentorial (SCIT) resection and an occipital interhemispheric approach. Pathology was pilocytic astrocytoma in one institution and ganglioglioma in a second. Patient presented to us with worsening imbalance and gaze impairment. Patient underwent a right paramedian SCIT with gross total resection except for a capsule remnant that was stuck to the wall of the third ventricle on the right side. Final pathology was ganglioglioma. The glioma part of the ganglioglioma looks like pilocytic astrocytoma and is also BRAF+ sometiems, hence the confusion. Patietn was discharged on POD3. She had no EVD or LD placed intra or periop. She was able to ambulate better postop and was discharged home. Saint Alphonsus Boise, Idaho #microsurgery |
