| Video Discription | Fluorescence guided surgery is a relatively new concept in surgery , ICG( indigo cyanine green). is dye completely excreted in bile and not metabolized in the body, if injected IV concentrates in the gall bladder and biliary ducts , if subjected to near infra red light it fluoresces ,so it can be very helpful in identification of the biliary duct during cholecystectomy, adding to the safety of the procedure. We present in this video the very first usage of ICG in Egypt, thanks to KARL STORZ who provided the imaging system for us ti try it. |
