| Video Discription | This is a pineal region mixed germ cell tumor. Patient is 11-year-old female. HCG/AFP in both blood and CSF are all negative. So we choose to remove tumor. Endoscopic Paramedian Supracerebellar Infratentorial Approach was performed. To my experience, this approach is better than microscopic Poppen approach or callosal choroidal approach. For pediatric pineal region tumors, endoscope should be tried more and more. Paramedian approach is better than median approach because culmen will block your sight. Almost no veins will be sacrificed compared to median approach and with a better vision. |
