| Video Discription | Partial posterior fundoplication is the procedure of choice when doing an anti-reflux procedure at our centre for reason. We abandoned Nissen's as we could not show any significant benefit in reflux control compare to our modified Toupet's technique in 1000 patients (Toydemir T et al. J Lap Endosc Tech 21(8):1-8,2011). Doing so ; all bougie related complications are now "even theoretically" eliminated as no "bougie" is required during a partial fundoplication. Furthermore; we also published that all functional side effects such as dysphagia and gas bloat are much more prevalent after Nissen's. It is noteworthy that all re-do's or dilatations for dysphagia were also only required after the Nissen's. |
