| Video Discription | We present the case of a 54-year old lady. Incidentally, after a period of headaches, an aneurysm was diagnosed on the lateral wall of the clinoidal segment of the internal carotid artery. Since she was on anticoagulant medication the decision was made to treat the aneurysm. The patient favoured surgery instead of endovascular treatment. She was operated upon through a left-sided pretremporal approach, with anterior clinoid process resection. The aneurysm was located proximally at the distal dural ring. This was cut, after which the clip-reconstruction was performed uneventfully. Surgery by Dammers, Erasmus MC, Rotterdam, the Netherlands. Video edited by Volovici. |
