| Video Discription | In this video, neurosurgeons Eze Goldschmidt, MD, PhD, Praveen Mummaneni and head & neck cancer surgeon Ivan El-Sayed, MD perform an endonasal endoscopic odontoidectomy in a 90-year-old woman who presented with spinal cord compression and severe upper and lower extremity weakness. The preoperative MRI revealed a large odontoid pannus refractory to medical treatment for her rheumatoid arthritis. The patient also received a C1-C2 fusion. After surgery, the patient started to recover her strength and post-surgical imaging showed a complete decompression of the spinal cord.
