| Video Discription | This video demonstrates a microscopic transpromontorial approach for excision of a left vestibular schwannoma. The patient is a 22 year old female with a ipsilateral profound hearing loss. A modified Rambo meatoplasty approach was used to expose the entire osseous external auditory canal and to provide a water tight closure. The patient had mild postoperative facial weakness (House-Brackmann Grade 3) at discharge from the hospital on day three after surgery. Her facial function returned to normal (House Brackmann Grade 1) at her six week post-surgical office visit. |
