| Video Discription | The new BAHA Attract (on controlled market release in Australia): A full thickness skin flap is made of a 5cm diameter semicircle down to periosteum. The titanium implant is inserted like the two-stage BAHA. It is important to ensure that no bony prominence is in contact with the metal plate that the magnet will attach to. The metal plate is then screwed into the titanium fixture using a torque wrench. The plate is marked "up" because it has a north and south corresponding to the magnet on the BAHA itself. This procedure was undertaken in Toowoomba, Queensland. The BAHA Attract will come into general release in early 2014. |
